Frequently Asked Questions Concerning On-Campus Living and COVID-19

Move-Out instructions are posted on the McMurry University Coronavirus Housing Plan webpage.

Your belongings are secure in your room and can remain there. 

Yes. Email your request to residencelife@mcm.edu. Shipping will be limited to essential items only such as students’ computers, academic materials, medications, identification, money, etc.

The move-out process aligns with McMurry’s efforts to minimize the spread of the COVID-19 by limiting crowds on campus, practicing social distancing, and providing students and their families flexibility in making the necessary arrangements. 

Please refer to the McMurry University Housing Plan webpage. This will give you the most up-to-date, descriptive information.

We unfortunately do not have the staffing capabilities to assist campus students with packing or moving out.

McMurry leadership is carefully considering this issue as it relates to housing and dining halls. As soon as decisions are made, they will be posted to this page. 

The Post office will be open from 8 am - 5 PM, Monday-Friday.

If you return to McMurry to retrieve your belongings or Move-Out, please stop by the Post Office. You can fill out a card with your current mailing address, any items that are delivered by the United States Post Office can be forwarded to you.

If you are not returning at this time and have a package that was delivered by USPS contact the Post Office with your forwarding address and they can send the USPS package to you.

You will be contacted by a representative of the Office of the Dean of Students. A Jurisprudence meeting will be conducted over the phone. Current disciplinary sanctions are still in effect.

You will have access to your residence hall until you complete the Move-Out process. 

Yes. Your meal plan is still active. The dining hall serves from 10:30 am until 1:30 pm (BRUNCH) and Dinner 4:30 until 6:30 pm.

All policies and regulations found in the Student Handbook remain in effect as usual.

No guests are allowed to visit or stay overnight in the residence halls during this time. Parents and friends may only help residential students Move-Out of their room. 

Please email residence.life@mcm.edu with a proposed day and time you can check out of your room.

The Housing Process will take place at the end of March through the start of April. It will occur completely on-line. Please watch your email for information and instruction in this process in the coming weeks. 

Please refer to the email sent by Julia Puac-Romero regarding Online Pastoral Care. Chapel sermons will also be available online in March. Students can access sermons via Facebook at 11 am and  McMurryRSL YouTube Channel at 1 PM on Tuesdays.

The University Clinic will resume regular hours on Monday, March 16, 2020. Hours are subject to change. Updates on Health Clinic hours available on the Health Service web page.
