STRONG Interest Inventory

The Strong measures your interests in a broad range of occupations, work activities, leisure activities, and school subjects. Its validity and reliability far exceed those of any other interest inventory.

The test itself lists many jobs, activities, school subjects, and so forth, and asks whether you like, are indifferent to, or dislike each of them. Your answers are compared with the answers given by people already working in a wide range of jobs, and your scores will show how similar your interests are to the interests of those people. The Strong is not a test of your abilities; it is an inventory of your interests. Your results will be presented to you later on a Strong Interest Inventory report. The report will provide information to help you understand your results.
For McMurry students, the Strong and consultation are provided free by the Career Services office. For non-McMurry students the fee for each visit is $10 ($10 to administer the test, $10 for career counseling, etc...) This test is given by appointment only. To make an appointment, contact Sandy Lane in the Counseling & Career Services office at 325-793-4880
