  McMurry Student Employment

All student employment at McMurry University with the exception of only two areas is administered through the Work Study program. The Student Employment Coordinator verifies student eligibility and organizes departmental job postings, application, and new hire document processing in the Career Development office.   Work Study

Work study requires an award of Federal College (CWS) or Texas State (TWS) work study funding from Financial Aid. Please contact your financial aid advisor to learn of your eligibility at 325-793-4713.

Students competing for work study positions via online application are interviewed and selected by department supervisors. The standard award for each student is 10 hours per week for each 16-week fall and spring semester. View Current Job Listings

Students who plan to work at McMurry University must have a social security number. First-time, new student employees are required to present an actual Social Security card, passport, or certified copy of a birth certificate, along with current photo ID and bank information to complete Federal I–9 and direct deposit forms. Copies cannot be accepted.

Federal ID requirements can be viewed at:

  Skills-specific hires

The number of students who qualify for work study is larger than the number of available positions. We cannot guarantee students a position.

McMurry University complies with all applicable federal and state nondiscrimination laws and does not engage in prohibited discrimination on the basis of race, color, nationality or ethnic origin, sex, age or disability in employment or the provision of services.

Students who are requested for skills-specific positions (e.g., Chemistry majors with lab experience) who are not eligible for federal or state funding, may be awarded McMurry Work Program (MWP) funds if requested by a qualified department and if the student’s eligibility is verified by Financial Aid. These positions are not posted. The departments request the qualified students they want to hire.

  Non-Work Study

If you have been notified of your eligibility for the upcoming award period by financial aid, and you have registered for classes, you can begin to view and apply for available positions beginning the second week of August.

Please check back here for information updates.

There are only two non-work study, “part-time” student work positions on-campus: Institutional Advancement phonathon callers and revenue-funded summer camp or events staff which can be viewed at the link below.

Students, graduating seniors, and alumni are encouraged to use the CSO: Career Services Online employment software provided by Career Development to view and apply for these and other good part-time, entry level, or professional opportunities.
